My Story

How Ideas Become Things People Can Actually Use

I have always been interested in how ideas become things that people can actually use. This is the story of how that interest turned into a career that moves between business, technology, products, research and writing.

The Beginning

Where It Started

My professional journey has taken me across business, technology, product development, research, writing and strategy. At first, these areas may seem unrelated, but for me, they have always been connected by one thing, solving problems and turning ideas into practical solutions.

I started my career with a background in Quantity Surveying, where I developed an appreciation for numbers, planning, cost management and the importance of making informed decisions. Over time, my interests expanded beyond the built environment into business, people, technology and digital products.

That curiosity led me into Human Resource Management, project management, business consulting, data analysis and digital marketing. Each experience gave me a different perspective on how organizations work, how people make decisions, and how businesses can use information and technology to solve problems more effectively.

2021 Onward

From Business to Building

In 2021, I began developing my work in business consulting through Damisrael Solutions, working with businesses on areas such as business planning, financial modeling, business valuation, business intelligence, HR and business strategy.

Working closely with businesses also exposed me to a recurring challenge, having a good idea is only the beginning. Businesses need research, strategy, systems, technology and execution to turn those ideas into something sustainable.

That realization pushed me further into technology and product development. I began working more extensively with websites and digital products, learning how to take an idea from a concept to something people can interact with, developing experience with WordPress, Framer, digital marketing, data and business intelligence, while continuing to build my knowledge of SQL, Python and data science.

2024 Onward

Building Products

My interest in technology eventually became more than just developing websites for businesses. I wanted to build products that addressed problems I personally found interesting.

In 2024, I began building Pagia, a digital publishing platform designed to help African authors publish, sell and earn from their books. Building Pagia has given me the opportunity to work across many sides of product development, identifying problems, understanding users, thinking through business models, developing product features, communicating value and continuously improving the product.

I am also exploring other product ideas, including Clario, a platform designed to help healthcare professionals connect with patients digitally, as well as an investment platform intended to help businesses connect with investors and suitable funding opportunities.

Good products sit at the intersection of technology, business and human needs.
A Constant Thread

Writing, Research and Ideas

Writing has been another constant throughout my journey. I am a published writer of both fiction and nonfiction, and I have written across business, technology, marketing and other subjects that interest me. Research has naturally become an important part of that process.

I enjoy taking a complicated subject, asking questions about it, studying the available information, and turning what I learn into something that other people can understand and use. That interest has also led me to produce research work around areas such as digital publishing and the African creative economy.

My writing and research are not separate from my professional work. They are part of how I think, learn and make sense of the problems I want to solve.

Today

Where I Am Today

Today, my work sits across several interconnected areas.

Business. Technology. Products. Research. Writing.

I work on businesses and digital products, study markets and problems, build solutions, write about ideas, and continue developing the skills that allow me to move between strategy and execution.

I don't see this breadth as a lack of focus. I see it as an opportunity to connect disciplines that are often treated separately.

  • A business problem may require technology.
  • A product problem may require research.
  • A growth problem may require better data.
  • A good idea may require both strategy and execution.

That is the kind of work I am drawn to.

Looking Ahead

What I'm Building Toward

My long-term goal is to build and contribute to products, businesses and ideas that create meaningful value, particularly in emerging markets.

I am interested in the space where business strategy meets technology, where research informs decisions, and where ideas become products and businesses.

I am still learning, still building and still experimenting. And that is really the story so far.

I started by learning how to understand problems. I'm now focused on building better ways to solve them.
